Should retail companies get rid of coupons and just charge minimum for their products?

For example. a gallon of milk may cost 3.50 but with a coupon it cost 2.50. Why cant we get rid of coupons and charge everyone the fair price of 2.50.

People like to get more for less, coupons make them think they are doing just that (even if they are not). It a mental game, and coupons win.
